Northlight is a three-person studio. We started in 2019 after one too many projects where the build tooling outlived the product it was meant to serve.
How we work
Prefer boring
We reach for the platform before a library. Boring choices are the ones still working in five years, when someone else is maintaining them.
Ship small, ship often
Short iterations with something real at the end of each one. You see progress weekly, not as a single reveal at the finish line.
A short history
- 2019 — Founded Two engineers, one designer, and a rented desk above a bakery.
- 2021 — First open-source release A tiny static-site toolkit that still powers most of our client work.
- 2023 — Fully remote The desk went; the bakery, thankfully, stayed.
- 2026 — Today Taking on a handful of projects a year, on purpose.
